I’m back!

Amidst tons of laundry, some unpacking still to do, shopping for food and immense work in the garden, I managed to squeeze a couple of minutes to write this post to let you know I made it back in one piece. In between times, I learned that WordPress has canceled the existence of The Daily Post (there goes photo challenge and of course the Daily Prompts) what a pity. I will sure miss it and I am sure you will too. I will be back writing the usuals in a couple of days but for the meantime, I have some tidying up to do. Glad to see you again guys. Thank you for keeping my space alive during my absence, I enjoyed my time away but__ as always

It’s good to be back. 🙂

  1. I’m glad you’re back. It was a minor shock to learn The Daily Post was being mothballed. I’ll miss it too and that part wildcard, part unifying effect it had.

      1. Cee Neuner is pulling together a list of challenges on her website. I have thought many times about the old forums over the last year or two. We could do something, but you need 5,000 or 10,000 people to get a buzz and, out of those, a determined few would not go with the spirit of things, a few others would not understand the spirit of things, and try as we might, that would put a damper on everyone else, especially us! I wonder too if there are data protection issues now – I’m pretty sure the banners would not survive scrutiny and how easy would it be to remove all comments someone had made if they decided to claim their rights and ask for it? It is not protecting me at all to make me click on thousands of banners that are basically meaningless. There would be little point the lawyers coming for smaller sites, but there must be nervousness about WordPress as a whole. Feel free to delete this one!

      2. The number is not so much a problem I guess. Between you and those who have tons of followers you can pull it together. The legal issues are what seems to be the tricky part. And why should I delete your comment?

      3. That was one of the things I liked about the BloggingU forums, you had a place to discuss ideas about blogging itself, rather than a particular post.

      4. Agree. Though I find that any form of comment on any related subject to blogging which could lead to a sensible conversation and done with tact must be allowed since once you have started a conversation who knows where it could lead to and that’s personally is the joy of commenting, to exchange opinions and ideas , the very essence of why we are here.
