My Four Walls

Where to rest your eyes when everything you see

You have already  seen a million times?

Where to find your muse to commune with thee

When there is no door or window around?

A week, a month, a year… stretches forever

You have long forgotten how the real life looks like

In your  solitary confinement, no visitor allowed

Your thoughts, feelings, wants and needs don’t matter

No one notice when insanity and loneliness strike

Do you have to be grateful that you are still alive?

      1. Oh dear…
        Why?
Enjoy life… I mean I am no one to lecture you or give advice on this matter…but still…

Be happy, see the world around you…it doesn’t confine to just the four walls around you…
I felt really sad to read those lines… I was feeling like, if someone could write like this…how that person must be feeling inside…

Cheer up dear… There are so many things around you… Waiting to be seen by you… And one just doesn’t need a fellow human only…even animals can be great friends… Rather they are even better than humans…

So don’t be sad like this…

This life is too short to be sad,
Sitting just like this is really bad,
Get up, see the beauty around you,
And you will find that love and happiness surround you.

      2. I understand and totally get where you coming from. It is a long and complicated story (and most including me hate long and complicated story) so, I will make it short: Though I’m melancholic choleric by birth and enjoy solitude perhaps too much I used to go out there and roam around; see things, absorb and observe, but due to declining health I become a prisoner of my own body. I hope it make sense.

      3. Well I just tried…
Yeah I don’t really know what your story is,,,
        Sorry…
And please don’t mind that repetitive comment… I thought that last one wasn’t posted, so I wrote it again…

        Have a nice day ahead…

      4. Why?
        Why be like this?

Why to just sit like that and feel bad,
It’s just gonna hurt you and make you feel sad,
Go out, see the world around you,
And you’ll see that happiness and love surrounds you.

    1. It is a blessing(?) in disguise that I become ill after my children (technically they are no longer children, my daughter is 27 and my son 25, but to me they are still babies) left home. I avoid talking about my disease to them and refuse to see any visitor when I am at my worst. Get out of the dark. I know easier said than done but please try.

      1. wow.<3 :D. I know this is really hard, seeing your children grow up so fast! Even though I can't tell what you maybe feeling I can relate to what my mom keeps reminding about me leaving my home soon! I know spoken words are easier than put to action, but you never know what miracles a simple spoken word can make! Take care of yourself my dear! I've finally relieved myself from the grievances by following the path of God and He Almighty has shown me the meaning of peace and love! Now I aspire to help those poor souls out there like me, crying out deep for help I see! Coz who else can understand the pains much better than the ones subjected to it all!? Smile wide and put your trust in God and miracles will bloom in your life, for sure! 😉

      2. Yes. Only those who are in the same boat or suffered the same fate can understand. Noble goal you set yourself to follow and a very good example too. More power.

      1. No, that’s why I don’t bother people with the details. And that’s why it took me more than a decade to talk about it and admit I’m sick. That’s why I’m blogging… to lessen the pain.

    1. I have received five examples of the same comment so I deleted the three. I hope you don’t mind. I get it the first time 🙂 Just kidding. I know you must have sent those by mistake.

  3. I admire your strength and courage in writing this poem. It’s hard because you know people won’t understand, explanation required. That can be exhausting. But that you for sharing it with us. You truly are writing from yourself.

    1. Thanks for the thoughts but I’ve been nominated for more than dozen of awards but yet to accept one. Though I am grateful for the recognition, I don’t believe in it and I find the procedure tedious. But thank you.

  4. “Do you have to be grateful that you are still alive?” Powerful question. No. I think not feeling grateful is fair, when it’s true. I think we should stay alive while feeling it but feel it, all the same. Potent verse that draws us in. Thank you!
