Your entire community — however you define that; your hometown, your neighborhood, your family, your colleagues — is guaranteed to read your blog tomorrow. Write the post you’d like them all to see.
I’m already doing it. In fact, my mother-in-law is one of my followers and my blog is coupled with the LinkedIn account of my partner in crime and his colleagues are having a blast reading my posts. My son drops by once in a while and we talk about some of my articles that tickle his fancy.
Although I don’t use my full name here my nickname in real life is truly Bebong and my nearest and dearest call me exactly that. I have no secrets. I don’t care who read my writings. They can take it or leave it and that includes me.
A Mr. Bernard Baruch once said: Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. I try to live by that rule. It suits me just fine.
I am always impressed with your openness and willingness to share the personal. I have scratched at the surface mostly, though I have written about a few more personal things. Someday maybe I will follow the words from that quote.

I must admit, as in most things, it is easier said than done. The risk of being and staying true to yourself is enormous but I gladly take it.

Thats amazing, maybe it something I should adopt because unfortunately I think I care about things a little bit too much, and its always the the things that most are even concerned about. Story of my life. I personally like you writings, but I am sure you have figured that by now 🙂 cant stay away.

I want you to know that despite what I say or do, after all these years, words still have the power to hurt me. But I have to make a choice: be myself or pretend I’m someone else. The latter, I can never live with.

You know I can appreciate that, I use to have a motto, which is I can be whatever I need to be at any given situation. Now that I look back at that I see how negative that can make a person, it is simpler to just be as you say.

Of course, there are some instances that we have to conform a little bit but not in the cost of ourselves and what we believe in. We have to keep our core intact no matter what because the moment we lost it, we lost ourselves.
